Color is the heart of my creative process—it’s where every painting begins and where emotions come alive. Early on, I hesitated to paint vivid, surreal tones, thinking they weren’t realistic. But as I studied sunsets and nature more closely, I realized those fleeting colors do exist—we just have to pause and truly notice them. This is what I aim to evoke with my art: a sense of magic and a reminder to appreciate the beauty around us.
My marathon training also shaped how I see color. Wearing sunglasses with different lenses transformed how I viewed sunsets, showing me how dynamic and alive nature’s colors really are. That awareness now guides how I mix paints intuitively, adjusting palettes as I work to capture the mood and energy of a moment.
In my Violet Impressions and Impressions of the Sea series, I’ve embraced soft aquas, sea foam greens, and rich blues to reflect water’s serenity and vibrancy. Deep violets and dreamy sunsets add a sense of wonder, while bold reds and shimmering golds bring warmth and life. Each piece balances tranquility and vibrancy, creating art that feels alive and uplifting.
