Miami Art Week – A Dream Realized

For years, I’ve dreamed of attending Miami Art Week, and this year, I finally made it happen! The experience was everything I imagined and more—a whirlwind of inspiration, connection, and discovery. Although my trip felt too short, it left me energized and eager to return.

From the moment I arrived, Miami felt like stepping into the Netflix series Palm Royale. The vibrant energy, bold architecture, and endless color everywhere made it feel as though I was living in a magical, cinematic moment. Every building, meal, and interaction added to the charm. It wasn’t just the art that felt larger than life—every aspect of the city was bursting with creativity, style, and flair.

Throughout the week, I explored some of the most renowned art fairs: NADA, Untitled, Aqua Art Miami, Scope, and of course, Art Basel. Each one offered something unique, but what struck me most was how the fairs felt like an evolution of one another. As I moved from one to the next, I could see a progression of ideas, styles, and themes—a curated journey that highlighted the ever-changing landscape of contemporary art. Conversations with curators and gallerists deepened this insight, as they shared perspectives on the works, the artists, and the art world itself.

One of the most exciting aspects of the trip was discovering new artists whose work I felt deeply connected to. Seeing pieces by Satchi Moskowitz, represented by Anna Erickson Presents Gallery in Nashville, and Sol Summers, showcased by Carl Kostyal’s gallery in London, Stockholm, and Milan, was unforgettable. Meeting Sol Summers in person and hearing him speak about his creative process was a highlight of my week, and I loved connecting with other artists through Instagram afterward to explore more about their work.

Beyond the art, Miami Art Week was about people. I loved striking up conversations with other attendees, artists, and gallery representatives. It was fascinating to hear the stories behind the work and see how different perspectives shaped the art on display. Even just people-watching in such a vibrant and creative space was an experience in itself.

Traveling through the fairs with three incredible women—two professional artists and one art advisor—made the trip even more special. It was inspiring to navigate the fairs with them, exchange ideas, and form meaningful connections. I know these friendships will grow and continue to inspire me in my artistic journey.

This trip has only increased my passion for creating art. It reminded me of why I’m drawn to this work—the power of art to connect, inspire, and tell stories. I can’t wait to bring all the inspiration I gathered in Miami into my own art, and I’m already counting down the days until I can return!

Have you ever been to Miami Art Week or an art fair? I’d love to hear about your favorite moments!
